About
I believe that everyday we must fight to be ourselves. That’s why I freelance write. Part of being myself means letting my curiosities go in many directions.
With a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Columbia College Chicago and a master’s degree in science writing from Johns Hopkins University, I’ve made a career of translating science for general audiences in a way that’s informative, fun, and sometimes even artsy.
For more than a decade, I’ve written for a variety of national and regional publications—both online and in print—about science, health, and human performance. You can find some of my favorite clips here, so I won’t bore you with a list of publications.
From 2019 to 2022 I served as an editor for Women’s Running Magazine and Outside RUN. As a freelancer, I’ve written for top universities and medical organizations such as Johns Hopkins Magazine, Princeton Alumni Weekly, University of Colorado Anschutz, and Weill Cornell Medicine.
In 2025, I added the title of “mom” to my resume. I didn’t believe it would, but somehow, I’ve found parenting has made me more creative. I’m more energized than ever to tell stories that matter.
I’m looking for chances to get outside and witness innovation firsthand. Find me in Seattle for local stories or anywhere else in the world where change is happening.
